The economy of National Capital Region grew at a slower pace to 4.8 percent in 2018 from 6.2 percent in 2017. The main drivers for growth in 2018 were Trade, Public Administration and Defense, Financial Intermediation, and Real Estate, Renting and Business Activities. The CPI in NCR registered at 115.3 in July 2018 and accelerated to 117.0 in August 2018. By the end of the third quarter of 2018, CPI further accelerated by 0.7 point. Higher trend in CPI was recorded for all months during the third quarter of 2018 compared to the same period of the previous year.
