San Juaneños reaches to more than 100 thousand in 2020

The total population of the City of San Juan reached to 126,347 based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH). This city is accountable for about one percent of the total population of the National Capital Region (NCR) (13,484,462) as of 01 May 2020.

Total population in the year of 2000, 2010, 2015, and 2020 are gradually increasing. Compared to the previous census year (2015), the total population of San Juaneños increased by 4,167 in 2020.

 

Population of the City of San Juan increases by 0.71 percent annually from the period of 2015 to 2020

The Population Growth Rate (PGR) of the City of San Juan from the period of 2015 to 2020 is 0.71 percent. PGR indicates how fast a population increases or decreases as a result of the interplay of births, deaths, and migration during a given period of time.

This means that the population of the City of San Juan increased by 0.71 percent annually or seven San Juaneños per 1,000 population every year from 2015 to 2020. However, compared to the PGR from 2010 to 2015, PGR from the period of 2015 to 2020 increased by 0.59 percentage points.

 

Population Density increases by 3.4 percent from the period of 2015 to 2020

With a land area of 5.95 square kilometers, population density of the City of San Juan registered 21,235 persons per square kilometers in 2020
This showed an increase of 700 persons(3.4%) from 20,534 persons in 2015.

 

West Crame registers as the most populous barangay in the City of San Juan

Among the 21 barangays in the City of San Juan, West Crame has the highest population in 2020 with 16,353, followed by Greenhills with 15,212, and Batis with 9,453. The combined population of these three barangays is accounted for 32.5 percent of the total population of the City of San Juan in 2020. Moreover, about three out of 10 San Juaneños were in these barangays. Also included in the top five most populous barangays were Salapan with 8,865 and Santa Lucia with 8,092. The barangay with the least population was Isabelita with 1,556 or 1.2 percent of the total population of the city.
