Makati City - September 17, 2024 — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is proud to announce the successful registration of 89-year-old Lola Crecencia Reynado De Guzman from Kamagong St., Makati City, to the PhilSys National ID System. Despite her advanced age and health conditions, including a heart ailment since birth and severe rheumatoid arthritis, Lola Crecencia’s determination to be part of this national initiative is truly inspiring.
Lola Crecencia, who has been a widow for several decades, is now under the care of her younger brother, Mr. Fernando Reynado. After living in Bulacan for many years, Lola Crecencia moved in with her brother and his family in 2019 due to her frail condition. Mr. Fernando not only provides her with medical care but also took it upon himself to ensure that Lola Crecencia is registered with PhilSys. He sought out the PSA office in Makati after hearing about the importance of having a National ID for accessing essential services such as Makatizen and GCash.
This heartwarming story of perseverance serves as a reminder of the PhilSys program’s role in providing every Filipino, regardless of age or physical condition, with a legal identity and access to important services. Lola Crecencia’s successful registration showcases the program’s inclusivity, ensuring that even the elderly and those with disabilities are not left behind.
