The economy of the City of Caloocan grew by 3.2 percent in 2023, slower than the 4.5 percent growth in 2022. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the City of Caloocan was estimated at PhP 235.54 billion. (Figure 1)
The top three fastest growing industries were Accommodation and food service activities with 20.2 percent, Other services with 15.1 percent, and Professional and business services with 12.5 percent. On the other hand, Public administration and defense; compulsory social security and Manufacturing posted declines of 2.8 percent and 2.6 percent, respectively. (Figure 2)
The per capita GDP of the City of Caloocan was estimated at PhP 139,525 which registered a 2.7 percent growth in 2023. The City of Caloocan’s per capita GDP was lower compared with the NCR’s per capita GDP estimated at PhP 460,969.
The Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) has been the mechanism of the PSA to compile the annual estimates of GDP by province and Highly Urbanized
City (HUC), consistent with the National and Regional Accounts of the Philippines. In 2024, following the successful PPA compilation of the National Capital Region, the PSA releases for the first time the PPA results for all
82 provinces and 33 HUCs across the country.
