Makati City – 13 November 2024 — The Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman, Atty. Francisco J. Rivera, led the Philippine National ID registration for GAB employees in an event conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) PhilSys team at the GAB headquarters. Following Chairman Rivera’s registration, GAB Commissioner Manuel Salazar Plaza III registered next, setting an example for employees who were then encouraged to register for their National IDs.
Before the registration, Chairman Rivera shared a few words emphasizing the essential role of a government-issued ID in legally binding processes. He explained that establishing one’s identity is critical in the Philippines, particularly for executing documents that carry legal weight. “If you execute a document that’s intended to have legal effect, there must be proof of your identity, and you must submit a government-issued ID,” Rivera explained. He went on to describe how notaries require an ID to verify the signer's identity. Once confirmed, the document is notarized, becoming a public document with full legal standing.
Chairman Rivera praised the National ID’s utility, stressing that it is a widely accepted form of identification that can confidently be presented for notarization and other official transactions. He further reassured employees about the safety of their data, highlighting PSA's commitment to safeguarding the collected personal information. "PSA is doing everything possible to protect your identity, and we have implemented measures to ensure that your information remains secure,” he assured.
In his remarks, Chairman Rivera reiterated that the National ID is both useful and secure, urging all employees to take advantage of this essential identification tool. Commissioner Plaza and the GAB staff echoed his enthusiasm, with many expressing eagerness to participate.
The PSA PhilSys team thanks Chairman Rivera, Commissioner Plaza, and all GAB employees for their support in reaching the national goal of inclusive and reliable identification for all Filipinos.
