Pasig City – 02 December 2024. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - PhilSys proudly launched the Rehistro Bulilit program at the Barangay Manggahan Covered Court in Pasig City, marking a significant step in extending National ID registration to children aged 1 to 4 years old. The event coincided with the celebration of National Children's Month, fostering collaboration among various community organizations to provide essential services to young children and their families. The children present during the activity were children from the Supervised Neighborhood Play, making the event a holistic celebration of early childhood development and community engagement.
In addition to the PhilSys registration drive, Barangay Manggahan, under the leadership of Barangay Captain Quin A. Cruz, offered a free 6-in-1 vaccination program for children aged 5 and below. The event also featured services from PSA-Civil Registration Services, enabling parents to apply for Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificates, CENOMAR, and other civil registry documents. Representatives from the Local Civil Registry Office were on hand to assist parents of children without Birth Certificates with the process of late registration.
The event was made even more special with free food, ice cream, and a fun-filled photo booth for the children, creating a joyful and memorable experience for everyone. Barangay Captain Quin Cruz expressed his gratitude to the PhilSys team and other participating organizations for supporting this initiative, which made it more convenient for parents to access various government services. In his message, Captain Quin emphasized the importance of providing children, even as young as 4 years old, with a valid ID, stating that under his leadership, he is committed to ensuring that children have an identification document that they can use wherever they may go. He highlighted that having a valid ID at an early age empowers children and their families, facilitating access to essential services and opportunities.
During the launch, the PhilSys team successfully registered 39 children aged 1–4 years old, and an additional 15 individuals aged 5 years old and above. The team also assisted 15 clients in accessing digital copies of their National IDs, further emphasizing the program's goal of inclusivity and convenience.
The Rehistro Bulilit program showcases PhilSys' commitment to bringing government services closer to communities and ensuring that all Filipinos, regardless of age, can participate in the National ID system. This initiative not only strengthens the accessibility of PhilSys services but also highlights the importance of inter-agency collaboration in fostering community development.
