18 October 2024 – City of Makati. The National Statistics Month (NSM) was established under Proclamation No. 647, s. 1990 signed by the then President Corazon C. Aquino, declaring the month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month. In view of the month long celebration, the Philippine Statistics Authority NCR Provincial Statistical Office III (PSA NCR PSO III) conducted a Statistics Quiz Bee.

The event was attended by excited spectators and apprehensive participants who were warmly welcomed by Mr. Narciso H. Dino (Supervising Statistical Specialist) Officer-in-Charge.

The Quiz Master, Mr. Richard Lunar (Information System Analyst I), clearly explained the quiz mechanics and categories to the selected participants from the different departments of the PSA NCR III Office.

The first elimination round of the quiz trimmed down the twenty participants as they battled for the top five positions. The quiz bee judges, Mr. Narciso H. Dino, Mr. Joel C. Pertez and Mr. Gerel A. Almanon, meticulously tabulated and calculated the scores of every participant. After the five tricky questions were presented and answered, the top 3 winners were finally revealed.

Mr. Joseph B. Galang, Statistical Analyst, emerged as the quiz bee champion while Mr. Mario I. Bautista Jr., COSW – Administrative Aide IV, and Mr. Phanie Clar M. Asuncion, COSW - PPA-PLDS - Statistical Analyst, succeeded for the second and third place respectively.

It was followed by awarding of major and consolation prizes.  The top three winners will represent PSA NCR PSO III in the PSA Provincial Quiz Bee at the Regional Office.
