06 March 2023 – CITY OF MAKATI, Philippines. The Philippine Statistics Authority National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office III (PSA NCR PSO III) held a recognition ceremony for the Champion of the 3rd National Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Quiz Bee, Mr. Romeo “Chiz” Alcantara, Registration Officer II of the Makati City Civil Registry Office (CCRO) last March 6, 2023.

Mr. Alcantara represented the National Capital Region in the 3rd National CRVS Quiz Bee for Local Civil Registry Offices held last February 27, 2023 at Luxent Hotel, 51 Timog Ave, Diliman, Quezon City. He bested the 16 other representatives from the different provinces of the Philippines, showcasing his superb expertise on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics. He demonstrated to the whole nation his 8-year accumulated experience working in the CCRO, answering questions that encompass the operations of the Civil Registry Offices as well as the laws it incorporates.

The recognition ceremony was held after the Flag Raising of the Makati Local Government Unit (LGU). Atty. Rene Richard Salazar, City Civil Registrar of Makati City also congratulated Mr. Alcantara for his achievement and acknowledged all the winners of the PSA NCR PSO III Provincial Quiz Bee held last February 22, 2023. He took pride in the performance of the Makati CCRO and how the employees have upheld the Civil Registration procedures, laws, and regulations.

“This amazing colleague of yours bested 6 participants on the Regional Level Quiz last 16 February 2023, and 16 other contenders in the National Level. We would like to congratulate Mr. Alcantara for his outstanding performance and substantial understanding in Civil Registration and Vital Statistics.” Ms. Mary Ann Urbano, Statistical Analyst, introduced the awardee and gave a brief background of the competition.
