51 births daily in the first quarter of 2021

The birth occurrence in the City of Manila for the first quarter of 2021 reached to 4,631. However, this number is lower than the same period from its previous year by 26.7 percent.

The number of babies born in the City of Manila also contributed to 14.1 percent of 32, 839 or the total number of birth occurrences in the National Capital Region (NCR) for the first quarter of 2021.

In addition, among the first three (3) months of 2021, it was the first month of the year which has been recorded with the greatest number of birth occurrences in Manila. One thousand, six hundred sixty (1,660) babies were born in January which accounted for 35.8 percent of the total births recorded in the first quarter. This figure is also 7.5 percent higher than the monthly average of births recorded (1,544) in the said quarter. This was followed by March with 1,640 or 35.4 percent from the total number of births recorded.

On the other hand, February has been considered as the month with the least number of birth occurrences with 1,331 or 28.7 percent which is also 13.8 percent lower than the monthly average in this quarter.

Furthermore, on the average, 51 babies were born daily in Manila for the first quarter of 2021.

 

January as the most preferred month to get married

The total number of marriages conducted in the City of Manila for the first quarter of 2021 was 2,022. This is lower by 20.5 percent compared to 2,542 which has been recorded in the same period of the previous year.

Out of 10,822 marriages conducted in NCR for the first quarter of 2021, 2,022 or 18.7 percent of it was from the City of Manila. This figure is slightly lower compared to the first quarter of its previous year which contributed 18.9 percent to the total number of marriages done in NCR in the same period.

The month of January has been the most preferred month to exchange vows for the first quarter of 2021 wherein 742 or 36.7 percent of the total number of marriages in this quarter has been accounted for. In contrast, in the same period of its preceding year, it was the month of February which contributed to almost half or 46.5 percent of the total number of marriages conducted in the city.

Furthermore, 700 marriages or 34.6 percent of marriages for the first quarter of 2021 was recorded in February and the remaining 580 or 28.7 percent was from the month of March.

On a monthly average, 674 pairs got married in Manila while 22 couples tied the knot on a daily basis in the said quarter.

 

Registered deaths in Manila decreased in the first quarter of 2021

The total number of registered deaths in the City of Manila for the first quarter of 2021 reached to 2,934. This has a decrease rate of 1.6 percent from the same period in its preceding year which recorded 2,981 deaths.

There were also 21,676 registered deaths in NCR for the first quarter of 2021 and 13.5 percent of it was from the City of Manila.

Moreover, the month of March has still been recorded as the month with the highest number of registered deaths among the first three (3) months of the year in Manila wherein 1,609 or 54.8 percent has been accounted for. Meanwhile,  768 or 26.2 percent was recorded in February, and the remaining 557 or 19.0 percent in January.

In addition, 978 deaths occurred in this quarter on a monthly average while 33 happened on a daily basis.
