Based on the released data on 26 November 2024, the National Capital Region (NCR) recorded the highest number of grooms within the age group of 30-34 years old with a total of 15,996 or 30.8 percent of the total number of registered marriages in the region (51,892). Meanwhile, the largest frequency of marriages for the brides was of age group 25-29 years old with 19,563 or 37.7 percent.

The Municipality of Pateros recorded 208 registered marriages in 2023, with males aged 25-29 years old recording the largest number of marriages with 74 or 35.6 percent. This was lower by 5.1 percent than the number registered in 2022 (78) in the same age group.

There was one recorded teen groom in 2023. On the other end, grooms aged 50 years old and over (13 or 6.3 percent) recorded a higher number than the number of grooms registered (7 or 3.0 percent) in 2022.

Age Group of Female aged 25-29 registered the highest number of marriages

Brides aged 25-29 years old recorded the largest number of marriages in the Municipality of Pateros with a total of 84 or 40.4 percent in 2023. This was lower by 20.8 percent than the number registered in 2022 (106) in the same age group.

There were three recorded teen brides in 2023. Grooms aged 50 years and over recorded more than the number of brides (10 or 4.8 percent).

Most of the marriages were registered timely

Out of 208 recorded marriages in the Municipality of Pateros, 207 were registered timely with 99.5 percent share in the total number.

Explanatory Notes


Data on marriages presented in this release were obtained from the Certificates of Marriage (Municipal Form No. 97) that were registered at the Office of the City/Municipal Civil Registrars throughout the country and forwarded to the Philippine Statistics Authority. This release shows an overview of the registered marriages by age group of male and female and registration status that occurred from January to December 2023.  

Vital Statistics are derived from information obtained at the time when the occurrences of vital events and their characteristics are inscribed in a civil register. Vital acts and events are the birth, deaths and marriages, and all such events that have something to do with an individual’s entrance and departure from life together with the changes in civil status that may occur to a person during his lifetime. Recording of these events in the civil register is known as vital or civil registration and the resulting documents are vital records.

Marriage is a special contract of permanent union between a man and woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life.

Place of Occurrence refers to the place where the vital event took place.
