QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES –The Philippine Statistics Authority – National Capital Region Provincial Office II (PSA-NCR PO II) will conduct the 2021 December Labor Force Survey (LFS) starting 06 December 2021 in Quezon City and City of Marikina. The venue of third level training for 2021 December LFS will be held at NCR PO II Training Room 1, 8/F Grand Residences 75 Corregidor St. cor. EDSA Brgy. Ramon Magsaysay, Quezon City.

The monthly LFS aims to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population towards the estimation of the levels of employment and unemployment in the country. In addition, it also aims to provide high frequency statistical information to understand the current situation of employment and the economy of the Philippines during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 December LFS will use the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) through tablet for convenient and snappy communication.

The 2021 December LFS covers data for the period of seven days prior to the visit which will be collected from the randomly selected household samples. The PSA NCR PO II has 100 sample households in Quezon City and 100 sample households in the City of Marikina. There are 5 Regular PSA Staff that will lead the training and 4 Statistical Researchers that will undergo hands-on training to become competent in terms of objectives, concepts, and definitions about the LFS. They will be observed by trainers in a mock interview during the last day of training to assess the level of knowledge of trainees and their readiness for the survey using CAPI.

The enumeration period for the 2021 December LFS will be on 08 December 2021.
