QUEZON CITY, Philippines. The Philippine Statistics Authority is set to conduct the July 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) starting 08 July 2025 until 31 July 2025.

In preparation to this nationwide undertaking, the National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office II, which covers Quezon City and the City of Marikina, held two (2) batches of the third-level training last 23 to 29 June and 30 June to 6 July 2025 at AXIAA Hotel, 1105 West Ave, Project 7, Quezon City.

One hundred two Statistical Researchers (SRs) and ten Team Supervisors (TSs) were trained to interview and collect data from 1,637 sample households of Quezon City and 1,597 sample households for City of Marikina.

The July 2025 LFS and FIES Visit 1 utilize a sample of approximately 180,000 household nationwide to provide more detailed and reliable statistics at the provincial level.

The LFS aims to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. Data from the survey provides information on major labor market trends such as labor force participation and unemployment rates, hours worked, past industries, and occupation of currently unemployed persons.

Meanwhile, FIES is a rider survey of the LFS, that conducted every two years in two separate visits as a source for the estimation of poverty incidence. The 2025 first visit marks its 21st time since 1957.

During third-level training, CSS Adolacion encouraged the trainees to be more dedicated with their work as the accuracy and reliability of the survey results—which are vital for effective planning—lie in their hands.
