18 September 2024 — To promote accessibility and inclusivity, Philippine Statistics Authority National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office II (PSA NCR PSO II) continues to serve and help Quezon City residents register their Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) to have a name and nationality.

On the 10th, 11, and 13th of September 2024, 34 individuals in Districts 1, 2, and 5 of Quezon City received their birth certificates in security paper at the Councilor’s offices. District councilors extend their helping hand specially in notarial services to pertinent documents needed for late registration. PSA’s BRAP program aims to ensure that all Filipinos, regardless of their financial situation, have access to essential documentation. Another 50 individuals are scheduled to receive their certificates in October 2024.

“We believe that access to a birth certificate is a fundamental right and a crucial step in ensuring that all individuals can participate fully in society,” said Faith F. Rocamora, Civil Registration Unit Supervisor.

The awarding of the Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) is a result of the campaign to improve civil registration aligned with the goals of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Decade for 2015–2024.
