The economy of the City of Marikina grew by 5.5 percent in 2023 from the 3.7 percent growth in the previous year. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the city was estimated at PhP 117.70 billion. (Figure 1)
 

In terms of the performance of the industries in the city, Other services posted the fastest growth of 26.5 percent, along with Human health and social work activities and Financial and insurance activities with growth of 12.4 percent and 8.8 percent, respectively. (Figure 2)
 

In 2023, the per capita GDP of the City of Marikina was estimated at PhP 241,747 which represents a 4.8 percent increase compared to the per capita GDP recorded in the previous year.

The Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) has been the mechanism of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to compile the annual estimates of GDP by province and Highly Urbanized City (HUC), consistent with the National and Regional Accounts of the Philippines. In 2024, following the successful PPA compilation of the National Capital Region, the PSA releases for the first time the PPA results for all 82 provinces and 33 HUCs across the country.
