QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES –The Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Office II (covering Quezon City and City of Marikina) is conducting joint survey operations for the 2022 Occupational Wages Survey (OWS) and the 2021/2022 Integrated Survey on Labor and Employment (ISLE).
The OWS aims to gather data on employment and wage rates (actual rates) of time-rated workers on full-time basis in selected occupations in selected industries. These data are most useful in wage and salary administration and wage determination in collective bargaining negotiations.
On the other hand, the ISLE is a nationwide establishment survey that aims to generate an integrated data set on employment of specific groups of workers, unionism and collective bargaining, occupational shortages and surpluses, training of workers, occupational safety and health practices, occupational injuries and diseases, and establishments and workers’ productivity during COVID-19 pandemic. These data are inputs to studies on industry trends and practices and serve as bases for the formulation of policies on employment, conditions of work and industrial relations.
The PSA NCR PO II has a total of 1,110 sample establishments in Quezon City and City of Marikina. A total of 1 Provincial Focal Person, 1 Alternate Provincial Focal Person, 7 Provincial Supervisors, 7 Assistant Provincial Supervisors, and 21 Statistical Researchers were trained on the concepts and definitions of the 2022 OWS & 2021/2022 ISLE.
In light of this, PSA NCR PO II encourages everyone, most especially the selected sample establishments to support and cooperate in the conduct of this PSA undertaking. Rest assured that individual data provided by the respondent shall be kept strictly confidential under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, which stipulates that individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA shall be considered privileged communication and as such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.
