01 March 2024–Quezon City and City of Marikina. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) NCR-Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) II collaborated with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the PhilSys registration, issuance of electronic PhilID (ePhilID), and authentication of DSWD 4Ps beneficiaries during Family Development Sessions (FDS). The FDS aims to capacitate the household beneficiaries to become more responsive and active in performing their parental roles and responsibilities. This also promotes community involvement in special activities within the municipal and barangay level.
Grantees and household members aged five (5) and up who are already registered with PhilSys before 01 February 2024 are eligible for the FDS equivalence, provided they pass identity validation via biometric verification using the PhilSys verification Application. During the identity verification, the beneficiary being authenticated will need to provide his/her PhilSys Card Number (PCN) printed at the PhilID or ePhilID and have their fingerprint scanned using a fingerprint scanning device. If the response from PhilSys authentication indicates no match, it means that verification of identity failed and grantees and household members need to register with PhilSys to avail the FDS equivalency.
Aside from registration, PhilSys also provides an ePhilID, a paper-based ID that is recognized and acknowledged as an official government-issued ID in public and private transactions.
Furthermore, a Transaction Reference Number (TRN) Retrieval Service is available for registered beneficiaries who have misplaced their TRN. This service aims to help registered beneficiaries in obtaining/claiming their ePhilID.
During the DSWD FDS in Quezon City and City of Marikina, there are 2,278 beneficiaries that were authenticated. This collaboration between PSA and DSWD encourage more Filipino citizens to register with PhilSys; thus, assuring the seamless delivery of social services and an inclusive identification system.
