The economy of Quezon City grew by 4.5 percent in 2023 from its 2022 level, slower compared to the previous year’s growth of 6.6 percent. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the city was estimated at PhP 1.27 trillion. (Figure 1)
Among the 16 industries, Other services experienced the highest growth rate at 43.8 percent. In contrast, Public administration, defense, and compulsory social security saw a decline of 6.1 percent, while all other industries reported positive growth rate.
In terms of share to the economy of the National Capital Region (NCR), Quezon City accounted for 19.3 percent, making it the largest economy in the region. (Figure 2)
In 2023, the per capita GDP of Quezon City was estimated at PhP 405,112 which marked a 4.0 percent increase compared to the per capita GDP recorded in the previous year.
The Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) has been the mechanism of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to compile the annual estimates of GDP by province and Highly Urbanized City (HUC), consistent with the National and Regional Accounts of the Philippines. In 2024, following the successful PPA compilation of the NCR, the PSA releases for the first time the PPA results for all 82 provinces and 33 HUCs across the country.
