The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office – National Capital Region (PSA RSSO-NCR) successfully conducted the News Conference on the 2022 Economic Performance of the National Capital Region last 27 April 2023 in a Hotel in Quezon City. PSA RSSO-NCR Officials, Regional Line Agencies (RLAs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and media partners attended the said event.
PSA-NCR Regional Director (RD) Paciano B. Dizon reported the NCR's economic performance in 2022. He revealed that during the year, the region’s economy grew by 7.2 percent of which 6.6 percentage points were contributed by Services and 0.6 percentage points contributed by Industry. Moreover, about 0.05 percentage points contributed by Agriculture, forestry, and fishing to the growth of the region’s economy.
In terms of percent share, Services provided 82.0 percent or 5.14 trillion pesos, Industry provided 17.9 percent or 1.12 trillion pesos, and Agriculture, forestry, and fishing shared 0.01 percent or 434 million Pesos.
Among sixteen industries, the top three that contributed the most to economic growth were Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, Financial and insurance activities, and Professional and business services, with contributions of 1.7, 1.4, and 1.2 percentage points respectively.
