The economy of the City of Valenzuela sustained its growth by posting 2.3 percent in 2023, from a 4.4 percent growth in 2022. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the City of Valenzuela was estimated at PhP 168.86 billion. (Figure 1)
The fastest growths in 2023 were observed in Professional and business services with 10.5 percent, Human health and social work activities with 10.1 percent, and Financial and insurance activities with 8.4 percent. Meanwhile, Public administration and defense; compulsory social security and Manufacturing contracted by 6.1 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively.

The per capita GDP of the City of Valenzuela was estimated at PhP 250,643 which registered a 1.6 percent growth in 2023. The City of Valenzuela’s per capita GDP was lower compared with the National Capital Region’s per capita GDP estimated at PhP 460,969.
The Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) has been the mechanism of the PSA to compile the annual estimates of GDP by province and Highly Urbanized City (HUC), consistent with the National and Regional Accounts of the Philippines. In 2024, following the successful PPA compilation of the National Capital Region, the PSA releases for the first time the PPA results for all
82 provinces and 33 HUCs across the country.
