16 May 2025 – Quezon City. The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office-National Capital Region (PSA RSSO-NCR) released the 2022 Philippine Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) NCR’s Pace of Progress Results to determine how likely will the numerical targets be achieved by 2030. The United Nation’s Economic and Social Commission for ASIA and the Pacific (UNESCAP)’s Anticipated Progress Index (API) is one of the three indices approved and adopted by the PSA Board that measures the likelihood of achieving the SDG by 2030.

Based on the results of the API at indicator level, 38 SDG indicators have met the data requirements for the monitoring of its Progress Gap. 18 of these indicators were on track (47.4%) or is expected to meet the target at current rate, while 11 indicators needed acceleration (28.9%) or extra effort to meet the target, and nine indicators were regressing (23.7%) or needs reversal of the trend to reach its 2030 targets.

The Philippines is one of the 193 Member States of the United Nations that committed to the achievement of SDGs by 2030. The annual monitoring, compilation, and dissemination of the Philippines SDG indicators by the PSA through SDG Watch by virtue of the PSA Board Resolution No. 9, s. 2017.
The PSA Board Resolution No. 12, s. 2019 approved and adopted the list of CoRe-SDGIs to facilitate the sub-national comparisons in the monitoring of achievement of the SDGs which was adopted by the Regional Statistics Committee-NCR as the regional counterpart of the Board through RSC-NCR Resolution 2, s. 2020.
Included in the analysis are only up to 2022 data of each indicator that are available as of November 2023.
