The National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office I (NCR PSO I) registered 1,352 Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) from the Male and Female Dormitories in the Cities of Mandaluyong and San Juan.
JInsp. Jose Marie D. Sabeniano of San Juan City Jail-Male Dormitory and JInsp. Girlie A. Haber of Mandaluyong City Jail-Female Dormitory initiated the coordination with the PSA-NCR PSO I for both cities. The registration started on 02 to 05 September in San Juan City Jail while 14 to 18 September in Mandaluyong City Jail.
The Philippine Statistics Authority aims to register 50 to 70 million Filipinos by the end of 2021. Section 3 of Republic Act 11055 states that the PhilSys shall primarily established to provide a valid proof of identity for all citizens (including the PDL) and resident aliens as a means of simplifying public and private transactions.
The NCR PSO I targets to register about 5,000 more PDL at Manila City Jail Male and Female Dormitories on 27 September 2021.
