The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and SM Prime Holdings signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

CITY OF TAGUIG, Philippines - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and SM Prime Holdings signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to make the Philippine Identification System (PHILSYS) more accessible to the public by establishing PHILSYS registration centers in all SM Supermalls nationwide. The event was held on 14 June 2021, 10:30 AM at SM Aura Tower located at 26th St. corner McKinley Parkway, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Usec. Claire Dennis S. Mapa - National Statistician and Civil Registrar General and Asec. Rosalinda P. Bautista - Deputy National Statistician, PHILSYS Registry Office of PSA; Mr. Steven T. Tan, President and Mr. Bien C. Mateo, Senior Vice President of SM Supermalls. Also, present in the event were Mr. Paciano B. Dizon, Regional Director of PSA RSSO NCR and Ms. Amelia G. Basilio, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA NCR PSO III (Makati, Taguig, Pasig and Pateros).
The event began with an opening remark from the president of SM Supermalls, Mr. Steven T. Tan. He mentioned that the signing of the MOU would seal and strengthen the partnership between SM Supermalls and PSA. PHILSYS has already rolled out to twenty-six (26) Metro Manila Malls and other selected malls in the North and in Visayas, while twenty-seven (27) others would initially start today, 14 June 2021 until the end of the month.
Usec. Claire Dennis S. Mapa also discussed the PHILSYS registration process and had shown the public a sample of the PHILSYS National ID.
SM Prime Holdings also signified their commitment to establish PHILSYS registration centers in Waltermart, which is also under SM Supermalls, to further support PSA in this endeavor.
