The Philippine Statistics Authority-National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office I (PSA-NCR PSO I) will conduct the July 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS) round and 2022 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS) on 08 to 30 July 2022.
The LFS is a monthly household survey that measures the country's current labor market and is used, among other things, to calculate national and provincial employment and unemployment rates. It gathers data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population that aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market. On the other hand, the 2022 APIS is a rider survey to the July 2022 LFS. It is an annual household survey (except in years when the Family Income and Expenditure Survey is conducted) that can be used to generate non-income-related poverty indicators for monitoring poverty situation in the country and serve as one of the bases for the policies and programs formulation to improve the living conditions of the population.
In connection with this, the PSA-NCR PSO I hired 13 Statistical Researchers (SRs) to visit the 934 sample households - 395 in the City of Manila, 392 in the City of Mandaluyong and 147 in the City of San Juan – to conduct personal interviews using tablets through Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) application.
The PSA-NCR PSO I, with the help of the Local Government Units (LGUs), urges the public, especially the sample households to take part in the conduct of these surveys through providing accurate and absolute information to the authorized SRs who will visit them during the enumeration period. Moreover, all data that will be gathered on these surveys will be treated with utmost confidentiality as stipulated in Section 26 of RA 10625 that individual data furnished by the respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of PSA shall be considered privileged communication.
