Beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) receive a copy of their Certificate of Live Births on security paper (SecPa).

22 May 2024 – Pasay City. The Philippine Statistics Authority-National Capital Region-Provincial Statistical Office V (PSA-NCR-PSO V), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Las Piñas City, successfully awarded Certificates of Live Birth in Security Paper (SecPa) to six beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) in Barangay Pulang Lupa Uno on May 21, 2024.

The awarding ceremony, held at the Barangay Hall of Pulang Lupa Uno, was a successful initiative of the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of     Las Piñas City. Attendees included Mr. Joed Nikko P. Ciervo, Statistical Specialist II, and Ms. Kristine L. Calinga, Birth Registration Coordinator from the PSA, alongside Ms. Rio S. Timajo, Ms. Joanna Marie Javier, and Ms. Alyssa Liezl T. Saloc, both Administrative Aide II representing the Las Piñas LCRO. These officials personally handed over the much-awaited documents to the project beneficiaries.

Punong Barangay Guadalupe Alfonso Rosales and other barangay officials were present at the ceremony. PB Rosales expressed heartfelt gratitude to the PSA and the Las Piñas LCRO for initiating this project, highlighting its significant impact on their underprivileged constituents. The newly issued birth certificates will enable beneficiaries to meet school requirements and access social benefits from the government.

The BRAP, which continues to be implemented nationwide, aims to increase birth registration rates, particularly in marginalized communities including Indigenous Peoples (IPs), Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sectors. Additionally, the project ensures these groups are enrolled in the Philippine Identification System and receive their Philippine Identification (PhilID) cards, facilitating their access to social benefits and legal identities.
