2.1 percent increase in births in the City of Mandaluyong for the first quarter of 2024
The number of registered births in the City of Mandaluyong for the first quarter of 2024 increased compared to the same period in 2023. A total of 1,067 births were registered from January to March 2024, which is 22 more than the 1,045 recorded in the first quarter of 2023 reflecting a 2.1 percent increase.
For the first quarter of 2024, the total number of registered births in the Philippines was 296,342, while the National Capital Region (NCR) recorded 34,072 births. The City of Mandaluyong accounted for 3.1 percent of the total registered births in NCR during this period. (See Table 1)

February recorded the highest growth in births in the first quarter of 2024
In January 2024, 409 births were recorded, marking a 4.6 percent increase from the 391 births in January 2023. February 2024 recorded 323 births, reflecting a 7.3 percent increase compared to the 301 births in February 2023. However, March 2024 experienced a decline, with 335 births recorded—18 fewer than the 353 births in March 2023—representing a 5.1 percent decrease. (See Table 2)

356 births per month in the first quarter
The City of Mandaluyong recorded an average of 356 births per month for the first quarter of 2024, showing an increase compared to the monthly average of 348 during the same period of 2023. (See Table 3)

Mandaluyong marriages up by 11.9 percent in the first quarter of 2024
In the first quarter of 2024, the National Capital Region (NCR) recorded a total of 14,285 marriages. Within NCR, the City of Mandaluyong registered 358 marriages, reflecting an 11.9 percent increase from the 320 marriages recorded during the same period in 2023. These marriages accounted for 0.4 percent of the 99,555 marriages recorded nationwide in the first quarter 2024. (See Table 4)

More than 50 percent increase in marriages recorded in February 2024
Marriage registrations in the City of Mandaluyong showed an increase in February 2024. A total of 252 marriages were recorded, reflecting a 58.5 percent increase from 159 in February 2023.
In January 2024, 48 marriages were registered, a 35.1 percent decrease from 74 in January 2023. In March 2024, 58 marriages were recorded, marking a 33.3 percent decline from 87 in March 2023. (See Table 5)

An average of 119 marriages per month was recorded in the first quarter
In the first quarter of 2024, Mandaluyong recorded an average of 119 marriages per month, an 11.9 percent increase compared to the 107 average marriages per month in the first quarter of 2023. (See Table 6)

An 8.6 percent increase in deaths was recorded in the first quarter of 2024
In the first quarter of 2024, the total number of deaths recorded in the City of Mandaluyong was 578, compared to 532 in the same period of 2023, reflecting an 8.6 percent increase. Mandaluyong's deaths made up 0.4 percent of the 163,916 total deaths recorded in the Philippines in the first quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, the National Capital Region (NCR) reported 19,895 deaths during the same period. (See Table 7)

An average of 193 deaths per month in the first quarter
The average number of deaths per month in the City of Mandaluyong for the first quarter of 2024 was 193, compared to 177 in the same period of 2023. This represents an 8.6 percent increase in the average monthly deaths. (See Table 8)

February shows highest increase in deaths in the first quarter of 2024
In January 2024, the number of deaths increased by 26, representing a 14.1 percent rise compared to January 2023. February 2024 showed a more significant increase, with 181 deaths, 24.8 percent higher than in February 2023. However, in March 2024, deaths decreased to 187, reflecting a 7.9 percent decline from March 2023. (See Table 9)
