13 May 2024 – CITY OF MAKATI. Philippine Statistics Authority NCR Provincial Statistical Office III (PSA NCR PSO III) deploys 50 Statistical Researchers (SRs) to conduct the survey on the 2023 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) with 2023 Input-Output Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (IOSPBI) as its rider survey to cover the 7,337 sample establishments within the City of Makati, City of Pasig, City of Taguig, and in the Municipality of Pateros.
These surveys gather data that will be used by government planners, policymakers, and administrators in formulating social and economic development plans, policies, and programs.
According to Mr. Narciso H. Dino, Supervising Statistical Specialist, Officer-in-Charge of PSA NCR PSO III, the CPBI entails the collection of information on employment, revenue, expense, capital expenditures, assets, enterprise links and other data pertaining to the establishments' operation for the reference year 2023. He added that CPBI has the IOSPBI as the rider survey.
“The purpose of the 2023 IOSPBI is to collect detailed information on the revenue, expense, and inventories by product of businesses and industries covered in the 2023 CPBI to build the input structure and to construct the distribution of output required in the compilation of the 2023 Supply and Use Table (SUT) and 2023 I-O Table,” said OIC Dino.
“The deployment of the 50 SRs signifies the necessity of the data to be gathered. Their tasks involve visiting the sample establishments and conducting interviews with business owners or their designated office personnel who can provide the data. The success of these undertakings would be made possible through the cooperation of our sample establishments,” he added. He encourages business owners and managers to welcome the PSA Statistical Researchers and provide accurate information to them. He assures that the collected data will be treated with strict confidentiality and will be used solely for statistical purposes.
The PSA NCR PSO III has equipped its SRs with necessary training on data collection procedures and practices. The field operations will run until August 2024.
