Step 2 PhilSys Registration at Brgy. Tagumpay (left) and Brgy. Culiat (right)
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) National Capital Region-Provincial Statistical Office II maintains its commitment to inclusivity by conducting special registrations for incapacitated Filipinos.
Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) services have been implemented in many barangays around Quezon City and City of Marikina. On 9–10 April 2024, residents of Barangay Tagumpay and Barangay Culiat were able to access PhilSys services through mobile initiatives at their respective places.
Children and their parents were among the residents who were able to register with PhilSys through mobile registration operations. Additionally, a special registration was conducted at the residence of elderly and disabled people who are bedridden and unable to register on mobile registration sites. They proceeded through the standard registration process, and if the registration was confirmed as successful, an electronic PhilID (ePhilID) may be provided.
As of 10 March 2024, 85,021,561 Filipinos had already registered with PhilSys. The PSA is extending its efforts to bring PhilSys services to the remaining seven (7) million target population, particularly focusing on marginalized communities, children, people with disabilities, senior citizens, and others.
Meanwhile, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has directed banks and financial institutions to prioritize the Philippine Identification Card or national ID as the most accepted valid ID.
