1 May 2024 - The Philippine Statistics Authority National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office II (PSA NCR PSO II) co-locates with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices and caravans in Quezon City to conduct step 2 registration of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and electronic PhilID (ePhilID) issuance to aid Register Anywhere Program (RAP).
The RAP is a COMELEC-innovative campaign allowing qualified Filipinos to register and vote anywhere in the country without returning to residence. This initiative addresses the concerns of our Kababayans who are currently away from their residence for work, study, or other reasons yet would like to register as voters without physically going there.
This colocation initiative has two goals:
(1) to help aspiring voters who don’t have identification documents to obtain ePhilID which can be used for voter registration and other transactions,
(2) to increase the voter registration count in the country.
Giselle Marie S. Kiamco, a resident of Barangay Loyola Heights, registered and received her transaction slip which she used for ePhilID issuance and later for voter registration.
“Nagpunta ako sa COMELEC then sa ground floor nakita ko na may registration, so nag paregister agad ako”, she said. “Kung mag revisit sila sa Loyola Heights mas mabilis kung maireregister ang tatlo ko pang anak”, she added.
The PSA has been making PhilSys services convenient for Filipinos, particularly streamlining government services by co-locating in government offices, caravans, and events contributing to inclusive governance.
