The economy of the City of Navotas grew by 3.2 percent in 2023, slower than the 6.1 percent growth in 2022. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the City of Navotas was estimated at PhP 39.95 billion. (Figure 1)
The top three fastest growing industries in 2023 were Human health and social work activities with 10.8 percent, Financial and insurance activities with 7.8 percent, and Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles with 4.5 percent. On the other hand, Public administration and defense; compulsory social security declined by 5.4 percent. (Figure 2)
The per capita GDP of the City of Navotas was estimated at PhP 159,836 which registered a 3.2 percent growth in 2023. The City of Navotas’ per capita GDP was lower compared with the NCR’s per capita GDP estimated at PhP 460,969.
The Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) has been the mechanism of the PSA to compile the annual estimates of GDP by province and Highly Urbanized
City (HUC), consistent with the National and Regional Accounts of the Philippines. In 2024, following the successful PPA compilation of the National Capital Region, the PSA releases for the first time the PPA results for all
82 provinces and 33 HUCs across the country.
