13 June 2024 – Manila North Cemetery, Manila, Philippines. The Philippine Statistics Authority National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office I (PSA NCR PSO I) launched a significant initiative to ensure the National ID registration reaches all segments of the population. As part of this effort, the Step 2 National ID Registration was conducted inside Manila North Cemetery, one of the largest cemeteries in Metro Manila and home to a large portion of the community.

This year marks the commencement of National ID registration for children aged 1-4, expanding the coverage of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). The choice of Manila North Cemetery as a registration site underscores the commitment to make PhilSys accessible to all, including those residing in densely populated and unconventional living areas.

The registration drive inside the cemetery, including last year's efforts, successfully enrolled a total of 620 individuals. This initiative allows residents to obtain their National ID, an essential document for identity verification and access to a variety of services.
