CITY OF MAKATI, Philippines – The Philippine Statistics Authority National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office III (PSA NCR PSO III) joined the Bureau of Fire Protection in celebrating the National Fire Prevention Month with the theme “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi ka Nagiisa” by participating in the Motorcade of the Makati City Fire Station last 01 March 2023 at the Makati City Fire Station, Ground Level, Ayala Ave. cor. Malugay St., San Antonio, Makati City.

The National Fire Prevention Month is celebrated every March of each year pursuant to Proclamation No. 115-A, s. 1996 signed by then-President Ferdinand E. Marcos, and Proclamation No. 360, s. 1986, which declares the month of March as “Burn Prevention Month.”

The route of the motorcade encompassed most of the barangays in Makati City starting from the Makati City Fire Station, through EDSA, to C5 and back to the Makati City Fire Station. The motorcade started at 5 o’clock in the morning and ended by 7 o’clock.

The PSA personnel had the opportunity to ride the fire truck of Barangay Sta. Cruz and experienced the rush of an emergency during the motorcade.

The activity was held to promote the National Fire Prevention Month and to remind the citizens of Makati City that they were not alone during a fire occurrence, the Bureau of Fire Protection and the fire station volunteers were there to respond at any time.
