20 June 2024 – Department of Justice (DOJ), Ermita Manila. Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the Philippine Identification System Act, aims to create a single national identification system for all citizens and resident aliens in the Philippines.

In line with this, the Philippine Statistics Authority National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office I (PSA NCR PSO I), in close coordination with the PhilSys Registry Office (PRO) and the DOJ, conducted a pilot program for the National ID Registration of resident aliens, focusing specifically on refugees in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Refugees were invited to the Justice Hall of the DOJ to participate in the National ID Registration. During this pilot implementation, PSA NCR PSO I successfully registered 39 refugees. This achievement represents a significant milestone in the rollout of the Philippine Identification System. PSA NCR PSO I remains dedicated to collaborating with all sectors to establish a comprehensive and inclusive National ID System that serves every resident of the Philippines.
