The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office National Capital Region (PSA-RSSO NCR) will conduct the Women and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Development Index (WIDI) Survey, the first national survey on ICT focusing on women and girls in the country.

The WIDI Survey will gather baseline data on women and girls in terms of access, use, and skills in ICTs. The survey aims to enrich the domain of women and ICT by establishing key indicators that will capture the situation of women focusing on aspects of the Digital Economy, ICT Access, and ICT Usage that are affecting women the most.  Baseline indicators from the survey results shall reveal the different roles of women relative to technology use and shall present opportunities for their active participation in the ICT sector, leading to empowerment.

The enumeration for WIDI Survey will commence on 31 January 2022 and will last for about 24 days.  A total of 6,287 randomly selected sample households and housing units across 16 Cities and one Municipality in NCR will be enumerated using a Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) mode of data collection.

The WIDI Survey is being implemented by the PSA in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).

The PSA – RSSO NCR enjoins the public to support the WIDI Survey and appeals to the sample households to cooperate and actively participate by providing truthful, complete, and accurate information to the questions to be asked in the interview.   The respondents are assured that the data to be collected in this survey shall be covered by the confidentiality clause under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625.  Further, the PSA will release the result of this survey in aggregate information and in the form of summaries or statistical tables in which no reference to an individual shall appear.
