14 births daily in the third quarter of 2021

There were 366,070 babies born in the Philippines in the third quarter of 2021. From this figure, 12.3 percent or 45,014 babies were recorded in the National Capital Region (NCR). Furthermore, 2.8 percent or 1,280 of the babies born in NCR were registered from the City of Mandaluyong. However, this is lower by 17.6 percent compared to 1,553 which was registered in the city in the same period of its previous year.

 

In the third quarter of 2021, September had 479 registered births. Although it was lower compared to the previous year by 14.5 percent, it still contributed to 37.4 percent of the total number of babies born in Mandaluyong in the same quarter. 

 

Moreover, 31.8 percent or 407 babies were born in July. This was lower than the previous year by 14.7 percent. Then, August has been recorded with the least number of birth occurrences for this quarter with 394 or 30.8 percent, which was also a decrease of 23.6 from the same period of the preceding year.

Four hundred twenty-seven (427) babies were born in Mandaluyong monthly, and the month of September exceeded this number by 12.2 percent. Meanwhile, 14 babies were given birth in the city on a daily average.

 

77.4 percent of the total number of marriages in Mandaluyong recorded in July

In the third quarter of 2021, 67,089 marriages were recorded in the Philippines. NCR contributed to 10.1 percent of this number or 6,804. Furthermore, 2.1 percent or 146 of the total number of marriages recorded in NCR was from the City of Mandaluyong. This was higher by 61.4 percent compared to 70 which has been recorded in the same month of its previous year.

 

There were 113 couples who exchanged vows in the City of Mandaluyong in July. This is equivalent to 77.4 percent of the total number of marriages conducted in the city in the third quarter of 2021, making it the month with the greatest number of marriages for the quarter. This figure was also higher than the previous year by 61.4 percent.

 

The month of September recorded 28 marriages or 19.2 percent which was lower than the previous year by 53.3 percent. Furthermore, 5 pairs or 3.4 percent tied the knot in the city in August. This figure was also lower than its preceding year by 84.4 percent.

On a monthly average, 49 marriages took place in Mandaluyong in this quarter. This also corresponds to two (2) marriages being held in the city daily.                  

July was higher than the monthly average by 130.6 percent. In contrast, the months of September and August were lower by 42.9 percent and 89.8 percent, respectively.

 

9.6 percent increase in the number of registered deaths

The Philippines recorded a total number of 285,852 death occurrences in the third quarter of 2021. NCR contributed to 10.9 percent or 31,196 of this number. Moreover, 2.4 percent or 741 of the deaths registered in NCR was from the City of Mandaluyong. This figure was higher than the previous year by 9.6 percent.

 

There were 278 deaths that happened in Mandaluyong in September. This is equivalent to 37.5 percent of the total number of deaths registered in the city making it as the month with the greatest number of registered deaths. This was also higher than the previous year by 32.4 percent.

 

The month of August recorded 255 death occurrences in Mandaluyong for the third quarter of 2021. This is 34.4 percent of the total number of deaths that occurred in the city for the quarter which was also lower than the previous year by 1.2 percent. Additionally, July had the least number of deaths registered with 208 or 28.1 percent and equal to its preceding year.

On an average, 247 deaths happened in the city monthly for the third quarter of 2021. September and August were higher than this average by 12.6 percent and 3.2 percent, respectively. This also corresponds to eight (8) death occurrences in the city daily.
