QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES- The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide monthly survey of households conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) that gathers data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. LFS aims to provide a quantitative framework as a basis for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market.

Philippine Statistics Authority - National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office II (PSA-NCR PSO II) has a total of 199 sample households, 100 in Quezon City, and 99 in the City of Marikina. Four (4) Statistical Researchers (SRs) who will conduct the personal interviews were trained on the concept and definition of March 2023 LFS. On the final day of training, trainers observed them in a mock interview to evaluate their preparation for the survey using Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) and Paper-and-Pencil Interviewing (PAPI) data collection methods.

PSA-NCR PSO II encourages the public, especially the sample households, to show their continued support for the success of this survey by participating and providing truthful and absolute information to the SRs. Moreover, the data that will be collected in this project will be treated with utmost confidentiality as stated in Section 26 of Republic Act 10625 or “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013” and Article 55 of its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR).

The enumeration period for the March 2023 Labor Force Survey (LFS) in Quezon City and City of Marikina will start on the 8th day of March and will run until the 28th of the same month.
