The Philippine Statistics Authority-National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office I (PSA-NCR PSO l) will conduct the July 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2025 Family lncome and Expenditure Survey (FIES) First Visit on 08 to 31 July 2025 in the cities of Manila, Mandaluyong, and San Juan.
The LFS is a vital instrument in assessing the current state of the Philippine labor market. It provides information as a basis for the formulation of policies and programs on the creation and generation of gainful employment and livelihood opportunities, reduction in unemployment and underemployment, and enhancement of the welfare of a working person. On the other hand, FIES provides data that is needed in the different aspects of the country’s economic conditions. Specifically, it is the basic source of information for the measurement of poverty, measurement of the levels of living of different sections of the population and disparities in levels of living across geographical regions and socio-economic groups and for intertemporal comparisons of these levels and disparities, and estimation of the household account in the System of National Accounts and Balance of Payments.
The NCR PSO I has a total of 3,834 sample households – 1,626 in the City of Manila, 1,596 in the City of Mandaluyong, and 612 in the City of San Juan - to be enumerated for the July 2025 LFS and 2025 FIES Visit 1. The office hired 14 Team Supervisors - 6 for Manila, 6 for Mandaluyong, and 2 for San Juan - and 123 Statistical Researchers (SRs) who will conduct the interviews on the sample households using tablets through the Computer-Assisted Personal lnterviewing (CAPI) application.
ln connection with this, PSA-NCR PSO I urges support to the public, especially the sample households, to show their continued support for the success of these surveys by participating and providing truthful and accurate information to the SRs. Moreover, the data that will be collected in this project, just like in all the surveys of the agency, will be treated with utmost confidentiality as stated in Section 26 of Republic Act 10625 or “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013” and Article 55 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the same law.
