QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES - The Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Statistical Office II or PSA NCR PSO II in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Quezon City conducted the 1st batch of the 2023 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) 4th Level Data Collection Training on 13-17 and 20-24 February 2023 at Don Alejandro Roces Sr. Science - Technology High School located in Barangay Obrero, Quezon City.
More than 300 new personnel joined the training for CBMS. Energetic young blood and seasoned veterans alike gathered in the school auditorium to hone their skills and knowledge as future Enumerators and Team Supervisors.
The CBMS Area Supervisors (CAS) and LGU staff who were trained during 3rd level data collection training on 17-20 and 24-27 of January 2023 facilitated the training program.

The training was graced by the presence of the principal officers of the CBMS project. During the training, Arch. Pedro Rodriguez Jr., Head of Quezon City Planning and Development Department and CSS Apolinar F. Oblea, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA NCR PSO II, enlightened the participants on the essence and objectives of the CBMS project. Also, the Quezon City Administrator, Mr. Michael Victor Alimurung visited the training venue and emphasized the importance of data to be collected in the formulation of plans and policy-making for Quezon City.
To properly address the concerns of all the participants during the entire training, facilitators divided the attendees into 16 groups. Each group was attended by their respective CAS and assisted by additional trainers from the LGU. Trainees were reassigned to different groups each day for further discussion of their queries.
Aside from the discussion of the concepts, theories, and technical aspects of CBMS, a series of mock interviews were conducted to simulate the actual interview process. The mock interviews immersed the participants in the roles of an interviewer and a respondent, which helped them realize the bigger picture of the CBMS field operation.

For an additional information on the project, CSS Apolinar F. Oblea discussed the Summary of Concepts, Building, Housing Unit, and Membership to further enhance the participants' knowledge and comprehension of the fundamentals of CBMS.
A total of 275 enumerators and 54 team supervisors have successfully completed the 4th level data collection training of CBMS. These newly trained CBMS personnel are the first batch to conduct the CBMS operation in Quezon City.
