Happening now | 08 May 2024 – Muntinlupa City. The Philippine Statistics Authority National Capital Region – Provincial Statistical Office V (PSA NCR – PSO V) represented by the Supervising Statistical Specialist (SuSS), Ms. Judie Rhisa G. Baluran, attends the Pre-Planning Summit Orientation and Kick-off ceremony for the 2025 Annual Investment Program (AIP) Preparation in the City of Muntinlupa hosted by the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) held at the hotel in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The event is part of the series of planning sessions in preparation for the formulation of the 2025 AIP of the City Government of Muntinlupa. Said sessions aim to guide city departments, offices, and partner agencies on its direction towards the accomplishment of the city’s vision, agenda, and various sectoral development plans.
As such, present in the activity are the city officials, councilors, and department heads led by Hon. Rozzano Rufino B. Biazon, Muntinlupa City Mayor, barangay chairpersons, and representatives from various government agencies. As such, the event kicked off with a welcome remark coming from the Vice-Mayor of the City, Hon. Artemio A. Simundac, where he mentioned the relevance of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data. Hon. Simundac added that “CBMS data is one of the ultimate guides of the city that serves as a basis to improve the lives of Muntinlupeños”.
Then it was followed with an inspirational message and direction-setting given by Mayor Biazon where he recognized and acknowledged the vital role of all the offices involved in the formulation of effective plans and programs in the city. Marking an encouraging statement for the success of 2025 AIP in the City of Muntinlupa, Mayor Biazon ended his message with an encouraging quote from Benjamin Franklin which was stated as follows: “If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail”. Afterwards, CPDO headed by Mr. Alvin F. Verona, City Planning and Development Coordinator, presented the highlights of the results of the CBMS in the City of Muntinlupa which covers data on education and literacy, participation and security, water and sanitation, employment, income, food security, and health.
Accordingly, with the CBMS data, the city can now have a vital reference that can be used as a tool for planning and in identifying priorities according to the needs of the community. Also, it was highlighted to the participants that the City of Muntinlupa was the first among all the cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) to conduct and utilize the CBMS data.
With this, PSA NCR-PSO V will ensure to maintain its commitment in supporting the local government units anchor towards a responsive statistical service especially in providing various data that are deemed necessary for equitable development to which decision-makers will have access to a wealth of information that can inform policies and interventions aimed at addressing various aspects of poverty and improving the well-being of the community.
