The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) has released a public advisory urging citizens to remain vigilant against the increasing number of fake National IDs, both ePhil and PhilID.
Considering recent reports regarding the emergence of fake National IDs circulating within the country, PhilSys emphasizes the gravity of engaging in unauthorized production, printing, usage, and possession of these fraudulent identification documents.
The official poster released by the PhilSys Central Office bears a clear reminder: "Ang hindi awtorisadong paggawa o pagprint, paggamit at pagmamay-ari ng pekeng National ID ay may karampatang parusang kulong at multa."
By Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the PhilSys Act, individuals found guilty of such violations may face imprisonment ranging from three to six years and fines from one to three million pesos.
PhilSys underscores the importance of authenticating National IDs to prevent identity fraud and uphold the integrity of the national identification system.
Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities related to the production, distribution, or usage of fake National IDs to the appropriate authorities.
For further inquiries or to report fraudulent activities, you may contact PhilSys through our official channels. You can reach us via email at info@philsys.gov.ph, through Facebook Messenger at m.me/PSAPhilSysOfficial, or by dialing 1388.
