The Philippine Statistics Authority-National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office I (PSA NCR PSO I) supports and joins the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), the lead agency of the National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) with the recurring theme “We Make CHANGE Work for WOMEN”. The 2022 celebration focuses on the sub-theme: Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran.

As part of the celebration, last 01 March 2022, 59 personnel of PSA NCR PSO I participated in the kick-off parade down the streets of San Miguel, Manila. The staff was assisted by police officers of Manila Police Station 14 and barangay police officers of Barangay 637 and 638.

Through the years, the NWMC initiatives anchored on these general objectives: to promote citizen-centric governance and make “change” a conscious effort to know, understand, and provide what all citizens need; to strengthen implementation of the Magna Carta of Women; and to contribute in promoting gender equality and the empowerment of all women.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the nation should still be able to acknowledge the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and their contributions to society and continue striving for a gender-equal world.
