Pasay City, 02 May 2025 – In celebration of the 123rd Labor Day, the City Governments of Las Piñas and Pasay joined forces to host a comprehensive Labor Day Job Fair on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Held simultaneously at Robinsons Place Las Piñas and the SMX Convention Center Pasay, the event served as a vital platform for connecting job seekers with meaningful employment opportunities across the region.
The job fair was held in alignment with the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) nationwide initiative themed "Manggagawang Pilipino, Kaagapay sa Pag-unlad, Sandigan ng Mas Matatag na Bagong Pilipinas." This year’s theme underscores the critical role of Filipino workers as partners in national development and as the foundation of a more resilient and inclusive society.
A notable highlight of the event was the participation of the Philippine Statistics Authority – National Capital Region – Provincial Statistical Office V (PSA-NCR-PSO V). As part of its mission to expand access to essential government services, PSA-NCR-PSO V set up dedicated booths offering National ID registration and issuance of its paper-form copies. This initiative not only facilitated identity verification for job applicants but also supported broader government efforts to ensure universal identification which is a crucial step toward inclusive growth and streamlined public service delivery.
By integrating National ID services into the job fair, PSA demonstrated its proactive role in bridging administrative services with employment initiatives, thereby reinforcing the employability of participants and reducing barriers to entry into the workforce.
The event’s success was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) of both Las Piñas and Pasay. Their dedicated work in planning, outreach, and on-ground support was instrumental in ensuring a seamless and impactful experience for employers and job seekers alike.
Together, the Labor Day Job Fair in Las Piñas and Pasay stood as a symbol of unity, progress, and empowerment—a collaborative endeavor that not only honored the contributions of Filipino workers but also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive economic development and equal opportunity for all.
