Days 1 and 2 of unloading and sorting of food packs

 

10 August 2023 – DSWD WAREHOUSE. The National Capital Region Provincial Statistical Office II (NCR PSO II) volunteered in the repacking of goods for the victims of Typhoons Egay and Falcon for two (2) consecutive days.

About 20 employees of NCR PSO II visited the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Warehouse and provided aid from 09 to 10 August 2023. They assisted in the unloading and sorting of food items like coffee, rice, and cereals. According to DSWD, a total of 250,000 family food packs (FFPs) are needed to prepare. The FFPs will be sent to several regions that are reportedly destructed by Typhoons Egay and Falcon.

Along with NCR PSO II, other government and non-government organizations, like Philippine Navy MCGI Cares, joined in the repacking activity.

More than 800,000 families were affected by the onslaught of Typhoons Egay and Falcon, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported on Saturday. About 57,000 houses and 506 infrastructures were damaged. The estimated cost of damage to agriculture amounted to Php 2,766,601,432.21.
